"Hello to all the Sec1s, I hope you all had enjoy the first few sessions of training. We had an enjoyable time right? Like i said to all you all -- ( There's a time to play and there's a time to be serious) -- Please always remember this. In time to come, there will always be obstacles for you to face, and solve it. No matter what happened, remember one of the school values - Resilience -, you must hold on and face the problem, even if you're alone. Although our time with you all is short, we will try to commit ourselves into this CCA, making this CCA a better platform for you to develop your life and leadership skills. With less than 5 weeks remaining for us to commit into this CCA, we'll put in our best effort for you.
I trust that you and your batch has the potential to develop and shine.

The CCA Sessions are as followed:

Wednesday: 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Thursday: 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Please note that all Sec1s to Sec3s are required to attend the two sessions every week stated above, attendance will be taken.

For all Sec4s and Sec5s, you are only required to attend the project sessions of your various committee, the project sessions of your committee are as followed:

Photography: Wednesday: 3.30pm - 6.30pm (Project Session)

Audio Broadcasting/ AV: Thursday: 3.30pm - 6.30pm (Project Session)

Video Productions: Thursday: 3.30pm - 6.30pm (Project Session)

Happy Chinese New Year!

Hello,

We had just ended our Chinese New Year duties.

There were quite a lot of hiccups, and there was a lot of things that were very last minute.

I hope that everyone that were down for the Chinese New Year duties managed to learn something.

Afterall, it's always for your own good. :)

My personal opinion is that, from my view, the whole event was very smoothly done, the movement was very quick, thanks to those who placed all the micstands.

I think everyone did a very good job. Just that sometimes, you need to ask. :)

One thing to take note is that the attire.

The attire was not tucked in for some of you all.

Like what Ms Ferng said earlier before during the Debrief.

If the next event, anyone who didn't tucked in their shirts, the next event after that event, those who are down for duties will not wear the PE attire, and have to wear their FSU (Full School Uniform)

I hope everyone have a great Chinese New Year, and may all your wishes come true in the upcoming year.

Just like what he said, are you going to think that we are a lepak CCA? In your minds, some of you may think it's a lepak CCA, but ask yourself, how much effort did you put into this CCA?

If you yourself, did not put in any effort, you definitely think that this is a lepak CCA.

Thursday, 17 November 2011, is the school open house.
The ICs are SohJingTing and Felicia.
They will give the duty for specific people.
All SDMA participants will not be involved.
The timing and other information will be given on Wednesday.

This open house is to let the P6 Pupils know what we does and what it is so special about our CCA.
This is where we gonna start planning the way you convince them to join your CCA.

If you have not give your Shirt sizes,
We will not process your shirt, thus you will not receive any CCA shirt.

Whether you get your shirt or not, it depend whether if you come for CCA on 9 November 2011.

Hey People,
Just like what Jon said, we put in a lot of effort for making this camp happened, in collaboration with Infocomm. I know some of you are somehow unhappy with infocomm. Personally, i hope that everyone will come for this camp, and maybe learn quite a bit from the student of infocomm. Who knows whether if you guys are able to hit well?

This camp, we planned it as CHALLENGING as possible. It's gonna be tough, so please be mentally prepared for this camp. If you don't wish to go, just because it's tough or whatever reason, just tell us, nothing to be shy about. But i do hope that every single one of you are able to go.

After this camp, put aside the three objectives of this camp, you will be able to learn more about leadership and stuffs like this. This camp is all about our school values.

ForYourInformation, the Camp will be on 4th - 5th November 2011,
Please report at 2.15pm (Friday, 4th November 2011) outside DanceRoom.
You will be dismissed at 1pm (Saturday, 5th November 2011).

Rest assured that you will be treated well , there's food that suit your preferences, be it vegetarian or spicy.

Lastly, There will be a briefing this Thursday at 2pm, in Computer Lab 4 (Storey 1).
Please bring along the consent form for submission.

Please do make yourself free during the first few weeks of Holidays.
We need to rush for SDMA.

Hey People,
I'm giving you more details about the upcoming CCA and BBQ session on this Wednesday.

CCA: 1pm - 4pm
(Please make sure that you report earlier than 1pm. )
Venue: MediaLab
Wear PE Attire. (If you have Media Tee, you may wear it as well)

We'll be doing area cleaning for MediaLab, Backstage's Store and the Control Room.
You will be assign to a specific location to carry out the cleaning processes.
There will be no changes to the specific location that you're assigned.
We'll annnounce the decision on that day.

CCA Fund:
SGD 5 to be handed up for CCA Fund.
Names will be recorded.
It is compulsory to hand it up on Wednesday, 22nd June 2011

As for the BBQ session, we'll start from 4pm onward, those who are unable to attend the bbq after the cca, please notify Felicia one day in advance. We'll take note of all the foods.
All the foods will be HALAL.
No Pork, No Beef.

If there is any vegetarian(s), please inform Felicia within 2 days before Wednesday, 22nd June 2011.

Note to Sec4s/5s:
Please be in PE Attire as well.

Note to Graduated Seniors:
We have not confirmed if you can wear home clothes to the bbq
But it's better to wear the Media Tee if possible.

Other than that, we will have Barbecue session, right after the CCA session which is 4pm onwards
Please also note that each member have to contribute a $5 to the CCA fund.

History Of GBC

In 2006,
Infocomm consist of the 1st batch of Sec1s, such as Anton, Becky, Emelyne etc.

In 2007,
The 2nd batch of Sec1s, consist of WeiSheng, ChunWee, Jacob etc.,
joined Infocomm. Infocomm decided to dismiss people who are from Uniform Group as the
former Principal, Mrs Mary Koh, think that it was too stress for those students to have 2 CCAs,
it were left with a few seniors.
It were then classified into 3 catergories.
The 3 Catergories are : Digital Art, AVA, IT

Infocomm President: Anton
Infocomm Vice-President: Emelyne

AVA President: Becky
AVA Vice President: WeiSheng

In 2008,
The 3rd batch of sec1s , consist of Michelle, Diane, XiaoBin etc joined.
The President and Vice President of AVA were changed.
The President and Vice President were Ong WeiSheng and Jacob Low respectively.

In 2009,
AVA was renamed as Media Club, and was no longer with Infocomm.
The 4th Batch of Sec1s which consist of Desmond, Jeremy etc., joined Media Club.
The intend President was WeiSheng, and Jacob as the Vice President.
But due to Jacob winning the Students' Council's Presidential Election,
The newly elected President and Vice-President was Ong WeiSheng and Teo ChunWee respectively.

In 2010,
The 5th Batch of Sec1s Such as Jon, Felicia, WanTian etc., joined Media Club.
The President and Vice President position was then handed over to Michelle Tan and Diane Lau respectively.

In 2011,
We were renamed as GBC, in short for Greendale Broadcasting Corporation.
The 6th Batch of Sec1s such as YongChao, Lionel, WongJingTing etc., joined GBC.
The President and Vice President position was then handed down to Desmond Loh and Jeremy Lim respectively.

Throughout the year, we handled quite many events. We also had camp with conjunction with Infocomm. The camp was to strengthen both CCA's teamwork and bonding.
